These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of the Capital Driving School website and to driving tuition or training arranged with Capital Driving School.
By booking or attending a lesson, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under Irish consumer law.
Driving Lessons and Training
Capital Driving School provides driving tuition and training services which may include:
- Car driving lessons
- Essential Driver Training (EDT)
- Pre-test lessons
- Refresher lessons
- Motorbike training
- Bus and coach driving tuition
- Other driver training services advertised on this website
Lesson availability varies and bookings are offered subject to availability. Pre-booking is recommended.
Booking Lessons
Lessons can be arranged directly with Capital Driving School by phone, email or through any booking or enquiry method provided on this website.
A booking is considered confirmed once the lesson date, time and any applicable payment arrangements have been agreed.
Learner Responsibilities
Learners are responsible for ensuring that they:
- Hold the appropriate valid learner permit or driving licence for the vehicle category concerned
- Comply with any legal requirements relating to learner drivers
- Bring any required documentation to the lesson
- Are medically and legally fit to drive
- Follow reasonable safety instructions given by the driving instructor
Capital Driving School reserves the right to refuse or discontinue a lesson where it would be unsafe or unlawful to proceed.
Attendance and Lateness
Learners should be ready at the agreed time and location.
If a learner arrives late, the lesson may still finish at the originally agreed time where another booking follows.
Where circumstances allow, Capital Driving School will make reasonable efforts to accommodate unavoidable delays.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
If you need to cancel or rearrange a lesson, please contact Capital Driving School as soon as possible.
Cancellation charges may apply where insufficient notice is provided. Any cancellation requirements or charges will be explained when booking.
Cancellations by Capital Driving School
Occasionally a lesson may need to be rearranged because of illness, vehicle issues, weather, road conditions or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where this happens, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the learner and arrange an alternative lesson.
Payments
The price and payment arrangements for lessons will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Where payment is required in advance, the booking may not be confirmed until payment has been received.
Any applicable cancellation or refund arrangements will be explained when booking.
Driving Tests and Test Preparation
Driving lessons and pre-test training are intended to improve driving skills and help learners prepare for the driving test.
Completion of lessons or pre-test training does not guarantee that a learner will pass the driving test. Driving test outcomes are determined independently by the relevant testing authority.
EDT and Other Structured Training
Where Capital Driving School provides Essential Driver Training (EDT) or other regulated driver training, lessons will be provided in accordance with the applicable requirements for that training.
Learners remain responsible for completing any required number of lessons and meeting the eligibility requirements for their driving test.
Vehicles and Safety
Where a Capital Driving School vehicle is used, reasonable steps will be taken to ensure that the vehicle is maintained and suitable for driving tuition.
The instructor may terminate or postpone a lesson where weather, road conditions, the learner's behaviour or another safety issue makes continuing the lesson unsafe.
